This project included 220,000 tons of rip rap and bedding at various locations for bank stabilization throughout the floodway. It also required 100,000 CY of excavation from the river channel. The job also included importing topsoil, seeding and repaving a City of Wichita street. When this large and complex project bid it was allowed 645 days. After the project was awarded the scope was increased by 17%. Bergkamp Construction did not request extra working days, with the additional amount of work Bergkamp completed the work in 240 days.
